Bibles in Ontario Classrooms??
Religion December 1st. 2010, 9:01amThis past Monday, the Waterloo Region District School Board passed a vote that allows Gideons International in Canada to distribute Bibles to Grade 5 students. One of the trustees, Colin Harrington, said “A public school needs to educate the whole child…If you deny the religious experience in your education system you open the door to the demonic experience.”
The students will have to take permission slips home to their parents and will only receive their Bible when they hand the signed form back to their school. Although the Bibles won’t be distributed to students without their parents’ consent, this doesn’t excuse the fact that public schools should not be distributing any kind of religious material to their students.

Perhaps a future vote for distribution of "Letter To A Christian Nation" is in the works…??

Wouldn't that be nice. After thinking about this for a bit, it doesn't bother me as much as it first did considering that it is well known that most Christians have never read the Bible (although it doesn't bother me as much, I am still strongly against the distribution of religious material in any public setting). I would be more concerned if the schools started teaching classes about the Bible and Christianity. That's where the real trouble would begin.
